Roulette Rules

There are 2 types of roulette, American and European roulette. Both have a wheel that is divided into numerous slots. The American roulette is divided in to 38 slots, numbered 1 through 36, plus 0 and 00. The French roulette wheel is divided into 37 slots, numbered 1 through 36, plus 0. There is no 00. Before you get confused, standard American roulette rules have the table use different chips than other table games at the same casino. Each player is assigned different color of chip, allowing the dealer differentiate bets and match them to the right players. These chips are worthless at the other tables in the same casino, so do not bother trying to stack them under your blackjack chips or anything foolish like that. The roulette dealer will exchange your chips for regular chips when you are done playing. You should give some indication to the dealer as to what value of chip denomination you prefer to be provided with. For a 5 dollar minimum table, you will have a minimum value of 1 dollar on roulette chips. Judge this based on your average bet and whether or not you like to split things up a lot. Roulette rules necessitate this sluggishness, as making all of the bets is what usually slows things down. When you are at the point that you want to place your bet, do not be concerned about someone else having already taken your bet - chips can share bets thanks to the colors. Roulette rules give you plenty of time to set your bet, and can keep doing so after the wheel has been spun, just do not try it after the dealer waves his hands over the layout - (if there are any new players the dealer will most likely say "no more bets" out-loud, too). Once the ball has found its slot, the dealer will call out the winning number and place a marker on that number's spot on the layout. The dealer then, sweeps the table clean and the winner always get paid. Wait til the dealer says "place your bets" before putting any chips down for the next round.
