Roulette is the most popular of casino games. Luxury, passion and simple rules make roulette so popular in the world of game. If you translate the word of “Roulette” from French you will get “small wheel”. It was Blaise Pascal who introduced the primitive version of this game in the 17th century. The single zero Roulette was introduced in 1842 by Frenchmen Francois and Louis Blank. The game wasn't then very popular in France as any form of gambling was considered illegal, but Roulette was well-known in Germany and Hamburg. Later the game of Roulette was brought back to France and the Prince of Monaco loved this game a lot. At the beginning of the 19th century Roulette appeared at American casinos and gambling houses. The improvements were deleted, and a double "00" returned. Roulette was very popular among Americans.
As a gambler you know that when playing Roulette there is a certain period of time in which you can make bets. The time between two spins is about 60 seconds. For this 60 seconds players have to make bets. Players have a few seconds after the dealer spins the wheel. No more bets can be made after the dealer says “no more bets”. When the balls drops into a slot on the roulette wheel, the dealer will place a marker on the table that corresponds with the slot that the ball dropped into. He then removes all of the losing bets. Then the winning bets are paid off and the dealer removes the market from the Roulette table. Players are not allowed to touch their chips during this time, or else they could be removed from the casino. Above all else, just be courteous. Make sure that you are respectful to the dealer and the people around you, and also offer the dealer a small tip every 10th spin or so. The last advice here is avoid drinking alchocol.
The wheel is unbalanced. Unbalance wheel is a good thing for unfair gamblers. They turn it to their advantage in order to make some fast cash. The only problem is that today it is impossible to find and unbalanced wheel. Casinos, too, have heard the story of Joseph Jaggers and are constantly monitoring their wheels. Before every table is open to the public the wheel is checked and rechecked to make sure it is perfectly balanced. In the case of an unbalanced wheel they recalibrate it at once. 2. The number that haven’t been hit yet is more likely to come out. It is a mistake. Every number has the same chance of hitting-38:1. If the ball hasn’t landed in this very number for a long period of time it doesn’t mean that it is more likely to do it in a short while. Roulette is a pure game of chance. With every spin the chances of hitting any number are 38:1.

Chris Boyd seemed to be the craziest gambler in history. In January of 1994, Chris followed his dream to the casinos of Las Vegas for the ultimate roulette spin. He had saved up $220,000 and he wanted to risk and to put this sum on one spin. He searched around Las Vegas for a casino that would actually take his bet. Having got refusals in most of the casinos Chris went to Binion’s Horseshoe Club, which was the last casino he visited. The maximum bet available was $100,000, but the casino let him make a $200,000 bet. The casino also agreed to block out the double-zero on the wheel as this didn’t exist in the European version of the game that Chris was used to playing. Chris chose to place his bet on red. The casino and the dealer agreed to a few practice spins to ensure that full fairness for everyone concerned, and then the big spin came. The ball was spinned and it landed in 7,red. Chris won an amount equal to his bet and he promised never again to come to the casino. |
