» Casinos Beating Roulette

Roulette is the best-known symbol of casino. Luxury, passion and simple rules make roulette so popular in the world of game. The world 'roulette' means 'a small wheel' in French. The primitive version of the game was introduced by Blaise Pascal in the 17th century. Later the single zero Roulette appeared. It was introduced by Francois and Louis Blanc. In the 19th century casino gambling was forbidden in France, that's why the game wasn't so well-known in France, but it was very popular in Hamburg and Germany. Later the game of Roulette was brought back to France and the Prince of Monaco loved this game a lot. At the beginning of the 19th century Roulette appeared at American casinos and gambling houses. The improvements were deleted, and a double "00" returned. Roulette was very popular among Americans.

Roulette is a wheel game. The wheel of the roulette is spinned on an axis which is placed in a bowl. The wheel consists of 37 or 38 slots depending on the type of roulette:American roulette wheel contains 38 slots,European - 37.The numbers can be black or red. The 0 or 00 are green.Up to 8 people can play roulette at the same time.Accordind to the rules the croupier spins the wheel of roulette in one direction and then rolls the ball around the edge of the wheel in the opposite direction. After the ball had fallen at one of the slots and stopped, the croupier announces the winners. The aim of roulette is to guess the number of the slot in which the ball will stop and to make the right bet. Before you start game, you buy chips from the croupier, and roulette chips are almost always different from all other chips in the casino. Each player has chips of his own color that's why the croupier knows who to pay off at the end of each spin. Players can make their bets until the croupier announces, "No more bets."After the result of the spin is determined, the croupier puts a marker on top of the winning number on the table. The marker is placed on top of the chips, if there are bets on that number. The croupier sweeps off the table all losing bets and pays off the winning bets.
Some casinos have special rules.

In Prison/En prison
In case the ball stops at zero slot, the croupier will not collect red/black, odd/even and first half/last half bets, they will stay on the table - in other words they are in prison. The players can win their original bet back during the next spin;if their bet wins they get their original bets back without additional gain. If the ball should land on zero once again the bets will remain in prison one more spin and so on. This special rule is greatly to the advantage for the players, as it reduces the casinos edge to only 1.35%.

La Partage
When the ball falls on zero, red/black, odd/even and first half/last half bets will not be fully collected by the croupier. Only half of the players’ bets will be collected - the rest will be returned to the players. As well as the In Prison rule, the La Partage rule also reduces the casinos edge to only 1.35%.

The wheel is unbalanced.
Of course there always exists a chance that the wheel is not balanced well. That’s why there are unfair gamblers who use it if they notice that the wheel is unbalanced. The only problem is that today it is impossible to find and unbalanced wheel. The story of Jaggers is well-known among casinos, that’s why they examine the wheels all the time. The casino staff examine the wheel every time before gamblers begin to play. In the case of an unbalanced wheel they recalibrate it at once.
2. The number that haven’t been hit yet is more likely to come out.
This is absolutely false. The chances of hitting any number is 38:1. Just because the number seven has not hit for hours, does not mean it will hit soon. Remember roulette is a game of chance and the odds are the same for every number with every spin of the wheel.

The numbers 1 through 36 are divided evenly among red and black "pockets" on the Roulette wheel. The pocket is an area, in which the ball can land. Depending on the Roulette variation there is one or two green pockets with 0 or 0 and 00.
The Roulette wheel is spun by the dealer in the counter clockwise direction and then he releases a plastic ball along the top of the wheel’s cavity. As the wheel loses velocity the ball is pulled down off of the track and bounces around until it settles into a pocket.

» Do you believe that a person can sell everything he has and put all his money on a single Roulette spin. The very thought of it might probably fills you with equal measures of excitement and fear – the very same feelings experienced by 32 year-old Ashley Revell, from London, when he did the unthinkable! Revell had sold everything he had and went to one of the Las Vegas casinos with all this money with a firm intention to put all this money on Red. Watched by a few good friends and family, all with their hearts in their mouths, the incredible happened when the roulette ball stuck on Red, netting a staggering $270,600! Revell himself admitted that seconds before placing all his money on red, he thought about placing it on black. Revell himself admits that it was a stupid thing to do – he just happened to get lucky – very lucky!
