Casino Roulette Play
Among all the casino games roulette is classic. In any full service casino in the United States besides blackjack and craps you'll find roulette which is more popular in France where it is historically a cultural part of the gambling scene. In Europe people have been playing roulette since the 18th century and nowadays online roulette games are popular all over the world.Modern roulette has been around since at least 1796, when the game was played in Paris in almost exactly the same form it's played today. Roulette had its origins in multiple other games. In the early 18th century in France was popular "biribi" - an italian ball game which was combined with another wheel game where colors, not numbers were used. In 1720 in England people began to play "Roly-poly" which consisted of black and white slots. So roulette could possibly be considered a hybrid of both birib and Roly-poly.Understanding a game is the first step down the road of enjoying a game. And it's the amount of pleasure you take away from the tables but not your odds will increase due to the knowledge of the game.
There is also the European wheel or the Single Zero roulette or sometimes French Rouletteis similar to the American wheel.
The greatest difference between the European and the American wheel is the fact that European wheel only has a single zero - whereas American wheel has a single zero and a double zero.
The European table is more beautiful in symmetry while the American table is more practical during play because the red/black and odd/even are placed right next to each other, and the first18/last18 betting spots are placed right next to the single numbers.
Thanks to the single zero the European roulette players have better odds than the American roulette players.
American roulette wheel is divided into 38 numbered slots:numbers 0 to 36 and 00. The betting layout consists of every individual number as well as a host of "outside" or combinations of numbers. After the players make their bets the dealer spins the wheel and a ball and after several seconds the ball will land in one of the numbered slots.
Roulette is a wheel game. The wheel placed in a bowl spins on an axis. The wheel consists of 37 or 38 slots depending on the type of roulette:American roulette wheel contains 38 slots,European - 37.The numbers can be black or red. The 0 and 00 are considered green.Up to 8 people can play roulette at the same time. The rules suggest that the croupier spins the wheel of roulette in one direction and then rolls the ball around the edge of the wheel in the opposite direction. After the ball had fallen at one of the slots and stopped, the croupier announces the winners. You are to guess the number of the slot in which the ball will stop and to make the right bet. When you first sit down at a roulette table, you'll need to buy chips from the croupier, and roulette chips are almost always different from all other chips in the casino. Each player has chips of his own color that's why the croupier knows who to pay off at the end of each spin. Players can make their bets until the croupier announces, "No more bets."After the ball had stopped, the croupier puts a marker on top of the winning number on the table. The marker is placed on top of the chips, if there are bets on that number. The croupier sweeps off the table all losing bets and pays off the winning bets.
We can find special rules for some casinos.
In Prison/En prison
In case the ball stops at zero slot, the croupier will not collect red/black, odd/even and first half/last half bets, they will stay on the table - in other words they are in prison. In the next spin the players have a chance of winning their original bet back - if their bet wins they will get their original bet back but with no additional win. If the ball should land on zero once again the bets will remain in prison one more spin and so on. As this special rule reduced the casinos edge, it's greatly to the advantage for the players.
La Partage
In case the ball stops at zero slot, the croupier will not fully collect red/black, odd/even and first half/last half bets. Only half of the players’ bets will be collected - the rest will be returned to the players. As well as the In Prison rule, the La Partage rule also reduces the casinos edge to only 1.35%.
Jagger’s Wheel.
Unbalance wheel is a good thing for unfair gamblers. They turn it to their advantage in order to make some fast cash. But nowadays even if you try hard you will never find such a wheel. Knowing the story of Jaggers casinos constantly examine the wheels in order to make sure that they are well balanced. The casino staff examine the wheel every time before gamblers begin to play. In the case of an unbalanced wheel they recalibrate it at once.
2. Most gamblers believe that with every new spin the chances of the ball landing in the number that has not been hit yet become much higher.
It is not so. The chances of hitting any number is 38:1. If the ball hasn’t landed in this very number for a long period of time it doesn’t mean that it is more likely to do it in a short while. Roulette is a pure game of chance. With every spin the chances of hitting any number are 38:1.
The Martingale is the best-known roulette betting system. There are a great number of variations of it. The main idea of the system is that when you win, you pocket your bet. If you lose, you should double your previous bet.If you win that will guarantee you get back your previous loss and one more unit. And so on.
The Martingale System is effective only if you have an infinite bankroll and no betting limits.
The d'Alembert system is also rather popular. This system assumes that after a win, a player is less likely to win again. So after a win, you subtract a chip from your bet. The d'Alembert system also assumes that you are less likely to lose after a losing spin, so in that case, you add a chip to your bet. The fact that the roulette wheel has no memory and each spin is an independent trial with exactly the same odds of a win or loss is the previous spin is a weak point of the system.
There are 36 numbers, which are divided among red or black pockets on the Roulette wheel. The pocket is an area, in which the ball can land. Depending on the Roulette variation there is one or two green pockets with 0 or 0 and 00.
A roulette dealer (usually referred to as "croupier" spins the wheel counter clockwise and releases what is usually a plastic ball along the track that runs along the top of the wheel's cavity. As the wheel loses velocity the ball is pulled down off of the track and bounces around until it settles into a pocket.
