» About French Roulette Terms

The European wheel - also known as the Single Zero roulette or sometimes French Roulette is very similar to the American wheel.
The European wheel has only a single zero while the American one has a single zero and a double zero, and that is main difference between them.
The European table is more beautiful in symmetry while the American table is more practical during play because the red/black and odd/even are placed right next to each other, and the first18/last18 betting spots are placed right next to the single numbers.
The European single zero offers the player better odds than the American wheel with it’s single and double zero.
There 38 numbered slots on American roulette wheel: numbers from 0 to 36 and 00. The betting layout consists of every individual number as well as a host of "outside" or combinations of numbers. After the players make their bets the dealer spins the wheel and a ball and after several seconds the ball will land in one of the numbered slots.

As a gambler you know that when playing Roulette there is a certain period of time in which you can make bets. Traditionally players are given about 60 seconds in between each spin to make bets. When the dealer spins the wheel, you still have a few seconds to place a bet. As soon as the dealer raises his hand and says “no more bets” players can make no more bets. After the spinning ball lands in one of the pockets, the dealer will put a market on the corresponding number on the table. He then removes all of the losing bets. Then the winning bets are paid off and the dealer removes the market from the Roulette table. Chips can be touched after the spinning ball has stopped. Try to be polite and courteous. Be respectful to other players and to the dealer (even if you lose). You can give the dealer a tip after every 10th spin. Always remember that nobody likes drunk people, so even if you drink you must know your norm.

One subject which always arouses when people discuss winning at the game of roulette is biased wheels of roulette. To truly find a bias in a roulette wheel, you'D be required to watch about 4000 spins before noticing a real pattern, and frankly speaking, you won't discover a bias towards red or black. At best you'Ll be able to discover a bias toward a particular set of sections.
Gambling houses don't want a biased roulette wheel, as the casino advantage at the game of roulette depends on the odds making up 37 to 1 for every number. If given individual numbers pay out much more often than they should, the casino loses money. Casinos don't really have any advantage in fixing any games as the casino odds are to their advantage on all of them. In case if you can find a biased wheel, you must bet individual numbers as much as you can. If have an advantage over the casino, you don't wish to spend it on bets with small payouts.
Something resembling roulette wheel bias croupier signature. A number of roulette croupiers have been spinning the ball for that long that they do this in precisely the similar manner and at precisely the similar speed every time. That produces a very specific situation where some numbers can appear much more frequently than other numbers.
So when you're looking for that type of profitable playing it's best to choose an older croupier who looks truly weary, as if he's been doing this a long time. You don't wish somebody who's rather young and simply learning how to spin the roulette wheel. You want one who's spun it that many times that it's become automatic and predictable.
As that would require around 4000 spins to determine with any degree certainty some combinations on a wheel, that would take a considerable amount of time to observe that lot of spins. Maybe 100 hours or more. You may rather be away learning to count cards or play other games truly well instead of making efforts to gain advantage finding a biased roulette wheel or a croupier with a signature.

In our time casino odds are determined by law, and they should be either 34 to 1 or 35 to 1. That means that the gambling house pays you or and you get to keep your starting wager.
The gambling house average or house edge is the amount the gambler loses relative to any wager made, on average. When a gambler wagers on a single number in the American Roulette there is a probability of 1/38 that the gambler wins 35 times, and a 37/38 probability that the gambler loses his wager.
The presence of the green squares on the Roulette wheel and on the table are formally the only house edge. Outside wagers will anyway fail when a single or double zero come up. Nevertheless, the gambling house as well has an edge on inside wagers.
The house edge must not be confused with the hold. The hold is the amount of bucks the table changes for chips, minus the chips taken away from the table. The Casino Control Commission represents a monthly report containing the information about the win/hold amounts for every casino. The usual win/hold for double zero wheels is 21-30%, much more than 5.26%/2.70% of all gamblers bucks. That is known as "Churning" and is absolutely true of slots gamblers who according to statistics stop playing losing all their wagers.
A gambler having a some total amount of bucks might not win or lose all his bucks instantly, as the total of all wagers they lay will frequently be much more than the bucks they actually started with. The house edge applies to every wager made. That means the gambler might stop playing losing significantly more than 5.26% of his starting bucks.

The numbers 1 through 36 are divided evenly among red and black "pockets" on the Roulette wheel. The pocket is an area, in which the ball can land. In addition to the 36 red and black pockets, there are either 1 or 2 green pockets, containing the number zero and double zero (00) on the roulette wheel.
When all bets are made the dealer spins the wheel counter clockwise and then the ball is released along the track. As the wheel loses velocity the ball is pulled down off of the track and bounces around until it settles into a pocket.

» Have you heard the story of the craziest gambler? In January of 1994, Chris followed his dream to the casinos of Las Vegas for the ultimate roulette spin. Chris managed to save up $220,000 and he decided to put it on one spin of the wheel. It wasn’t very easy to find a casino that would let him make such a huge bet. Most casinos refused him. The last casino he visited was Binion’s Horseshoe Club. The Horseshoe Club had a limit of $100,000 on a red/black bet, but they agreed to accept his wager. The casino also agreed to block out the double-zero on the wheel as this didn’t exist in the European version of the game that Chris was used to playing. Chris placed all his money on red. The casino and the dealer agreed to a few practice spins to ensure that full fairness for everyone concerned, and then the big spin came. The ball was spinned and it landed in 7,red. Chris was the winner, he won $220,000 and he promised never to play at casino again.
